It’s the most iconic café on the Right Bank and has hosted since 1862 all the leading writers (Zola, Wilde, Hemingway, Maupassant...) and dancers from the nearby Opéra Garnier. In keeping with a major upcoming renovation, on Wednesday the 23rd of September, the Café de la Paix is putting up for auction all of its cult furniture.
A PARADISE FOR VINTAGE BUFFS
Heads up for enthusiastic antique rummagers and those who are keen about vintage furniture. This very special auction will be showcasing a wide array of nuggets to refurbish your living room: period tables around which many leading personalities shared socialite dinners, the entrance carpets, high ”snow kitchen” bar stools, timeless chairs in red leather, but also superb sideboards and dressers. Sold!
The added plus: part of the sales will be donated to the association Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, which helps children with cardiac malformations living in underprivileged countries.
Last tip: proceed like the pros. Rendezvous the night before, on Tuesday the 22nd of September from 9am to 7pm to discover the furniture and on Wednesday the 23rd of September for the sale which will begin at 9:30am. Rendezvous at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hotel, 2 Rue Scribe, 75009 Paris.
Also discover the new must-see exhibitions and Les Deux Magots, the new brunch of stylish Parisiennes.
