The meeting Paris Society and Jamel Debbouze
There is name dropping in the air! On the one hand, Paris Society and its founder Laurent de Gourcuff , a past master in the art of creating spectacular places with a high power of seduction ( Girafe , Bonnie , Mun , CoCo ). On the other, comedian Jamel Debbouze , who had long dreamed of paying homage to his mother Fatima with a restaurant worthy of his cooking skills. The two men meet, appreciate each other, the project ends up presenting itself and the dream comes true: at the IMA , as evidence. “ If one day I had to give my mother a present, it would be to offer her a restaurant. And if I had to choose a setting, it would be the Institut du Monde Arabe ,” confided Jamel Debbouze . There would not be a genie who would have come out of his lamp?
A restaurant worthy of a palace
Entrusted to Laura Gonzalez ( La Lorraine , Manko ) who glamorously orchestrated the decoration of the place, Dar Mima evokes the Orient and its attributes in an aesthetic grammar shrouded in chic. Padded and warm, the restaurant rolls out rugs and carpets on the floor, mixes marble , zelliges and marquetry , poses frescoes painted by hand on gold leaf and velvety benches .
And if you're looking to get closer to the stars, the other main asset of the place is its terrace designed like a Mediterranean garden suspended above the city, looking out over the rooftops, Notre-Dame and the Seine . Happiness guaranteed on sunny days in this timeless place that smells of jasmine .
Sharing cuisine infused with flavors
Moms' recipes are worth all the gold in the world. Fatima, Jamel's mother, shared hers to write her restaurant gift card. And it's the sun that arrives on the table with its round bread like the star, its zaalouk salad mixing aubergine and roasted tomato fondant (€14) and a crispy pastilla of chicken, almonds and cinnamon to lick fingers (€24). Next, we went for the couscous (lamb, merguez sausage, chicken, everyone was there! €49) and the perfect tagine of kefta with eggs (€26). To finish, we didn't miss out on the homemade mint tea or the dessert: a wonderful pastilla with milk cream and orange blossom for a good dose of pleasure (€36).
Let's dance now!
In line with the traditions of the Middle East and in the style of Paris Society , the party is on the agenda at Dar Mima . In the evening, the atmosphere is electrified, punctuated by live music which makes its entrance with percussion and guitar and to the sound of a playlist which embraces the bodies and carries them away in gentle undulations. The night is beautiful at Dar Mima ...
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
