In 2005, during the riots, this photographer was the first to put faces on « suburban youths». His XXL black and white portraits went around the world. A major statement that impacted not only his work but society in general.
Galerie Perrotin goes back on this decisive decade, through pictures of course, but also videos, notably the film Les Bosquets. An oscillation between the violence of the subsidized housing district and the grace displayed by dancers from the New York City Ballet and the Opera National de Paris, showcased by the artist at the foot of the towers.
