We already loved Voltaire, whose electric bikes, with their distinctly vintage appearance, caught the eye in all the good specialized shops. So when their very first flagship store dedicated to these bikes opens on Rue de Rivoli, we inevitably stop by for a closer look! Get your helmets on and hit the road.
THE NEW BIKE TEMPLE
Grégoire, a former product manager at Porsche, and Gabriel, his entrepreneurial partner, embarked on the exciting adventure of creating an electric bike brand in 2019. Unable to find bikes that were both stylish, practical, and safe, they decided to bring their dream bicycle to life.
Their brand new boutique, with the ambiance of a Parisian apartment, showcases various bike models and also offers accessories displayed on the fireplace, such as baskets (€119), luggage racks (€95), and even bells to personalize your ride.
ULTRA-TECH ELECTRIC BIKES
These little vintage-inspired gems with polished colors draw inspiration from the automotive world. They incorporate tech features as well! Take the Courcelles model (€2,590), for example, which includes a dashboard screen in the middle of the handlebars for unlocking the bike and locating it using GPS. The other two models, the very elegant Bellecour (€2,290) and the newer, sportier Legendre (€2,390), have a discreet screen on the right side of the handlebars with the same features. Note that you can, of course, test the bikes in the neighborhood before making a decision.
And how do you manage the battery? For practical and aesthetic reasons, it's located under the saddle and can be easily removed for recharging at home or at the office.
A great feature: at the back of the shop, there's also a workshop for minor repairs, adjustments, and accessory installations.
To obtain assistance from the city and the region, how do I go about it?
Can't decide? Well, you'll be delighted to know that you can combine the assistance provided by the City of Paris (a 33% reimbursement of the bike up to €400) with support from the Île-de-France region (a maximum of 50% of the purchase price up to €500). In short, you're going to treat yourself. Especially if you can trade your employer's contribution to your Navigo pass for a credit of €700 to €800. This new electric bike is already shaping up to be much, much more affordable than you might have expected. The choice is yours.
The store is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 am to 6 pm, on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 7 pm, on Saturdays from 11 am to 7 pm, and on Sundays from 2 pm to 6 pm.
