If you are in the mood for Blue Cargo, enjoy the made in Biarritz surfing attitude and if Guéthary is your fave destination… Then switch your pétanque balls for pelotari and launch into the wildest game of the moment!
Le Trinquet, whose trendy Thursday happy hours no longer need any introduction, is THE most hipster hot spot of the capital. All the lovers of pelote and the South West coastline meet up there. So it’s quite logical that for its 103th edition, the Paris-Basque fiesta has chosen to be there all weekend for a « holiday » event.
On the agenda? Initiation of pelote basque, folkloric dances, regional wine tasting… And by the way, after a few glasses, it’s really easy to sing loudly the traditional songs.
We adore: the stands of Basque street-food one finds all over the fiesta. Charcuteries, duck breast, cheese, Basque cakes from the mythical Pariès house…
Must try: their croque-monsieur tapas mixing chipiron and Kintoa ham by Fabrice Idiart and Jean-Marie Oçafrain. Pure delight!
Dress code: just guess? Red and white, natch! We have a sneaking feeling many stars who are fan of the Basque country –starting with Beigbeder- will be dropping by incognito!
Free entrance. Saturday June 13th from 9am to 2am, Sunday the 14th of June from 9am to 8pm.
