Once upon a time, Laurel (ex Sugarplum, king of hefty US style cakes), a sparkling American gal from South Carolina, enchanted little Frenchies with her Yankee cuisine in a charming cottage, lost in the back of paved courtyard of Saint-Germain-des-Prés…
This is not a fairytale. This little house exists for real, just a skip and a hop from Science Po. As for brunches, small (10€), bigger (18€) or fancy (21€) depending on your appetite, everything is home-made, US style and totally « organic », yeah !
Check out the fancy option: freshly squeezed fruit juice, Coutume coffee or tea, and a choice, « fried or not fried chicken» spiced honey with small house breads in French toast style, or a fried egg and ham or an amazing omelet that only Americans can whip up.
Be sure to ask them to set aside a slice of their legendary carrot cake or another layered sweet treat dripping with caramel (5€ per slice)… OMG as they say over there.
We looove: the friendly ambiance of this rustic-glam’ dining room.
Tops, you can also order their fancy brunch during the week. Careful, the courtyard is closed on Sunday.
Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm. Reservations recommended.
