These 5 beloved spots have just launched their afternoon teas, ready to book with your date, mom, or BFF. Let us know how it goes!

Saint James: The Most Intimate

The Atmosphere: Nestled in Paris’s upscale neighborhoods, Saint James Hotel exudes an air of exclusivity. Its stunning interior, reimagined by Laura Gonzalez, celebrates refined maximalism with wallpapers, grand staircases, and tapestries. Just the entrance, adorned with its 4 Michelin Keys, makes a bold luxury statement with a fountain, an elegant façade, and a winter garden visible from afar. Our favorite spot? The Bar-Bibliothèque, typically reserved for exclusive hotel club members, now hosts a dreamy tea time in an English-inspired atmosphere with antique books, plush velvet chairs, and magnificent rugs. It’s a true cinematic setting!

At snack time: Curated by the talented pastry chef Coline Doussin, the experience begins with a chicken club sandwich on brioche bread. Next, a refreshing jasmine green tea sorbet paired with Williams pears sets the tone. Then, indulge in an array of pastries: a crisp Madagascar vanilla and caramel Saint-Honoré, a citrusy pavlova, a nutty tartlet with Périgord walnuts, and a maritozzo filled with chestnut ice cream. Don’t miss the Montville mint baba with Madagascar chocolate whipped cream or the duo of house hot chocolates (50% Madagascar milk, 50% Colombian dark). Round it all off with tea from Maison Dammann or L’Arbre à Café’s “Canopée” coffee.

Saint James, 5 Place du Chancelier Adenauer, Paris 16th. Tea time available weekends, 3 PM to 5 PM. €65/person.

PROCOPE: THE MOST PARISIAN

the Procope tea time in Paris

The atmosphere: legendary! When you find yourself within the walls of a place that has existed since 1686, there's inevitably a certain emotion that comes with it. This iconic address nestled in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés has welcomed the Parisian elite and other illustrious figures throughout history. In 2024, Procope reinvents itself under the guidance of the Parisian interior architecture studio Friedmann & Versace, envisioning a new Café-Glacier lounge perfectly in line with the aesthetics of the place and its grand past. Let's remember that Procope, before being a brasserie, was a café and even the first to serve this beverage that had just arrived from the Ottoman Empire in the 17th century!

Tea time: on the menu, they talk about a "gourmet break," a formula that includes a dessert of choice (Chocolate Fondant, Paris Brest, Tiramisu, or Apple Puff Pastry) and a hot drink with the famous coffee (a must), tea, or divine hot chocolate (€16.50). As a surprise on the menu, there's a gourmet gem signed by Christelle Brua, voted the world's best pastry chef in 2018, who has imagined for Procope a bombastic Creamy Chocolate-Coffee Tart (€12.50). The flambéed crepes with Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge are to die for (€13.50), as are the ice creams and sorbets available in creative cups like Limoncello with lemon and mandarin sorbets, mini limoncello baba, whipped cream (€15.50), or to enjoy solo. The Fior di Latte ice cream with whipped cream and milk jam overflowing in its cup is enough to satisfy the cravings of the most gourmet (€12.50)!

Procope, 13 rue de l'Ancienne Comédie, Paris 6th. 01 40 46 79 00. Gourmet formula served from 3 pm to 7 pm.

BULGARI: THE MOST PALATIAL

The Bulgari hotel tea time in Paris

The atmosphere: Italian chic incarnate! In the cozy lounges of the Bulgari Hotel Paris nestled in the heart of the Golden Triangle, charm, elegance, and refinement enchant the space. Cosy and design, the lounge is adorned with marble tables, welcoming armchairs and banquettes, and a remarkable fireplace that positions the best seats around it. One could be in Rome or Milan... and that's what we love here.

Tea timeThis luxurious tea time bears the signature of two talented chefs: in-house pastry chef Guillaume Smagghe and the iconic Niko Romito, a three-Michelin-starred culinary maestro. It’s a feast of Italian flavors meticulously curated to offer a sublime experience on silver platters and porcelain plates. Start with an orange-scented scone paired with mascarpone, honey, and jam. Then, enjoy three savory bites like the exquisite focaccia with porcini mushrooms and black truffle. Next come five divine sweet creations: cannoncino with pastry cream and hazelnuts, lemon baba enhanced by 12-year-aged rum and limoncello, fig tartlet, cannolo siciliano, and an adorable baby tiramisu served in a dainty cup. Our favorite: the heavenly maritozzo, a soft brioche generously filled with mascarpone chantilly and sprinkled with chocolate shavings. Pair it with a hot drink or add a touch of sparkle with a Trento Doc Ferrari glass (€20 supplement). Tutto bene!

Bulgari Hotel Paris, 30 avenue George V, Paris 8th. 01 81 72 10 80. Tea time served from Friday to Sunday from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. Starting from €55 per person.

LUCAS CARTON: THE MOST BRITISH

The atmosphere: located just opposite La Madeleine, Lucas Carton is a true Parisian institution. Woodwork dating back to 1860, flowered banquettes, velvet screens, large mirrors, and beautiful chandeliers, the sublime room plunges into a cozy and timeless atmosphere, with the pleasure of sprawling comfortably on wide and soft banquettes. White tablecloths and silverware: all the codes of luxury are there to make you live a real experience.

Tea time: the Do It Team had the privilege of testing Sylvain Goujon’s brand-new tea time offering ahead of its official launch. Recently arrived in Paris after a stint at London’s Four Seasons, the pastry chef delivers a British-inspired tea time in two acts, combining mini pastries and full-fledged gourmet desserts. Presented on exquisite ceramic tableware, highlights include plain and dried fruit scones with clotted cream and caillebotte lemon. Other treats include Yellow Wine Baba with chestnut ice cream and walnut praline, Millot chocolate with blackberry and marjoram, and a tarte Tatin with mace and bergamot. The experience concludes with a surprising and refreshing miso bread and white beer ice cream. Of course, everything comes with the requisite cup of tea.

Lucas Carton, 9 place de la Madeleine, Paris 8th. Tea time available from late February. (€50 per person).
