Peaky Blinders in Ballet Rock Style at La Seine Musicale

After its resounding success on screens, the Peaky Blinders phenomenon arrives at La Seine Musicale in contemporary ballet style from March 12 to 30, 2025. On the program: the favorite gang of crooks from Birmingham for all binge-watchers in a surprising production, choreographed by Benoit Swan Pouffer and performed by the talented dancers of the London company Rambert. Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby, it’s the un-miss-able musical show of the coming days!

A bold bet for a thrilling result

Merging the super dark series Peaky Blinders with a dance and live music show? A bet that does not lack audacity. Yet, on stage, the magic of the collab’ between Steven Knight (series creator) and the artistic director of Britain's oldest dance company works wonders. Our fav English gang and the Shelby family twirl and express themselves through captivating strides. The story focuses particularly on the iconic (anti)hero Thomas Shelby, portrayed in the series by the now Oscar-winning Cillian Murphy, still alive despite a heart wounded by the Great War. A sublime introspection and storytelling through the 6th art.

A breathtaking dance and music show

To the rhythms of a completely rock and industrial live music, the stage scenes follow one another with disconcerting fluidity. The covers of Radiohead, The Last Shadow Puppets (supergroup of the Arctic Monkeys’ frontman) or even Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds (behind the iconic series' opening theme) create an elegant and dark auditory experience that 100% matches what we see. From cabaret-style roaring twenties scenes to battle-style dance fights – reminding us of West Side Story – we are mesmerized by the dancers’ talent, to the point where we don’t know where to look!

Our favorite moment: the sensual duet between the dancers embodying Grace Burgess and Tommy Shelby, where love is REALLY blind, as the dancer portraying our key male character moves with his eyes completely blindfolded.

Between ballet, contemporary dance, acting, mind-blowing sets and costumes, we (re)discover the iconic series from a new perspective. This show that has taken all of England by storm and even won prestigious dance awards is not to be missed under any circumstances!
