Preparation: 15 min
Cooking: 1h
Rest: 2h
- 3 egg whites at room temperature
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 200 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For decoration:
- Melted chocolate
- Edible decorating tubes
Recipe
Start by whisking the egg whites, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt at medium speed. When the mixture becomes foamy, increase the speed to maximum and gradually add the sugar. Once you achieve a shiny, firm meringue, add the vanilla extract and mix again to incorporate it fully.
Place the meringue into a round piping bag (#2A). On a lined baking tray, pipe a large round shape for the body, followed by a smaller round shape on top for the head. Bake for 1 hour at 100°C (th. 3-4). Once baked, leave the meringues in the turned-off oven for another 2 hours.
When everything is dry, it’s time to decorate! Use melted chocolate and a toothpick to create 2 dots for the eyes, 5 for the mouth, 3 for the buttons, and 2 for the arms. Finally, use an orange edible pen to draw the nose.
