Adapted from the eponymous novel by Jay Asher and produced by singer Selena Gomez, 13 reasons why already created the buzz with its season 1 that tells the story of Hannah, a teenager who commits suicide after being harassed. In the intense and XL trailer of Season 2 just revealed by Netflix, the main characters (Clay, Tony, Jessica, Justin) are still in the running and discover through polaroids, that Hannah was not alone to be harassed…
Tapes replaced by Polaroids
While Season 1 recalled the harassment of Hannah through tapes, which she recorded before committing suicide, the narration mode of Season 2 is concentrated on mysterious polaroids that will lead Clay and his friends to a terrible secret. The Liberty High School is mediatized by preparations for the trial, but someone is ready to go all the way to stifle the truth regarding Hannah’s death.
School bullying and harassment still at the heart of the series
Season 1 had already sparked heated debates pertaining to the themes of suicide, harassment and sexual aggressions. This Season 2 concentrates more on the consequences (and no longer the causes) of Hannah’s suicide. The high school students attempt to rebuild themselves and to eradicate their share of guilt regarding the death of their fellow student.
