The happy hour ally of twigs? The oyster for sure! Light in terms of calories, rich in Oméga 3 and filled with proteins, spotlight on this deluxe bi-valve mollusk, Winter guest-star at the Mandarin Oriental.
Until Saturday, the bar of the prestigious palace welcomes the « bar à 8tres » oyster bar every evening, starting at 6pm, for a shoot of iodine filled vitamins. Purists can even come squat the superb garden hotel and sit on a bench straight from Carantec in Brittany.
Choose from two varieties: Fine Cadoret, velvety (18€ for 6) and Perle Noire, fleshy and chunky (28€ for 6) with a twist of lemon or shallot vinegar, great bread and butter.
The must: matching up your seafood Platter with Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut champagne bubbles for a light sparkling happy hour.
We adore: slurping like a pro with the advice of Marcel Lesoille, seafood specialist and quintuple world champion for oyster opening. Start by flattening the oyster against your palate with your tongue. Once the edges have melted, bite into the heart—pure delight.
Bar à 8tres, Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm to 10:30pm, until Saturday February 28th 2015.
