Your Sunday Anti-Blues Program

Between the fatigue of the week + the hangover due to the fiesta from the day before, it’s tough to find the motivation to get out of bed on Sunday. Yet, it’s not the cool outings that are missing in Paris! We found something to remotivate the troops, between immersive yoga classes, a quirky brunch with hilarious drag queens, a “splunch” in a beautiful Parisian hotel, exciting DIY workshops, a nightclub with a fiery program, a real revival of The Horse Whisperer, and even a shiatsu session. Result: we can’t wait for Sunday!

Get into the splunch at a stylish hotel

The splunch? It’s the concept that boosts your morale: a spa + a lunch to enjoy at a stunning hotel with your girlfriends or your guy. Head to the Burgundy to first enjoy its 5-star spa in a bright, modern, and luxurious setting. This moment of pure happiness is followed by lunch at Le Charles Café, crafted by the brilliant Chef Anthony Denon and his team, whose other hotel restaurant (Le Baudelaire) has even been awarded a Michelin star. On the agenda: 2 hours of access to the spa with pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, and gym, followed by a chic lunch with a dish and drink, including choices like artisanal pasta, smoked ham and comté, a sea bream poke bowl, quinoa & herbs, or even the dish of the day. And for those who need to reset everything (including our bank account), the Burgundy also offers a super complete Spa & Afternoon Tea package with 2 hours of spa access, a 30-minute glow-boosting facial, a 30-minute custom massage, a 30-minute scalp massage, all topped off with an afternoon tea at the Burgundy including 7 pastry creations by Pastry Chef Léandre Vivier, served under the hotel’s glass roof (€300 per person). A great gift idea too…

Splunch at Le Burgundy Paris Hotel, 6-8 rue Duphot Paris 1st. €95.

Try immersive yoga in Saint-Germain

Attention to Parisians who need to disconnect: we’ve got the perfect spot to book a surprising Sunday yoga session. The best place in the Saint-Germain district, located in a former Protestant temple at the back of a cobblestone courtyard, is My Ginger, the first immersive yoga studio in France. Their best workshop is Yinyasa, created by the yoga god Mathieu Boldron, a mix between the gentle and deep yin yoga and the more dynamic vinyasa yoga. But My Ginger doesn’t offer basic yoga classes: the studio projects films on its walls that give the impression of practicing in the heart of nature, in the middle of a waterfall or on a tropical beach. A true sensory journey offered during two sessions at 3:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. The best part? You have several packages to choose from according to your needs, and the first discovery class is only €19.

My Ginger, 13 rue du Vieux Colombier, Paris 6th. Single class €29. 1-month pass €175. More information online.

Brunch to a live jazz concert

La Bellevilloise is THE arty spot we love in the 11th arrondissement. Every Sunday, this iconic Parisian art venue offers a brunch formula with pure live jazz music as the soundtrack. A must! But the Jazzy Brunch at La Bellevilloise isn’t just a gentle musical wake-up, it’s also the promise of a gargantuan buffet, featuring (among other things) gravlax salmon, eggplant cream, roasted sweet potatoes, and red fruit clafoutis. Majestic, its grand hall (Halle aux Oliviers) charms with its setting, offering 250m² of century-old olive trees, Chesterfield sofas, glass roofs, and high ceilings. The best part? La Bellevilloise offers two brunch services, at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., for those who like to sleep in!

La Bellevilloise, Jazzy Brunch, €32 for brunch and live music. Reservations online.

Whisper to horses at the Barn

To taste absolute freedom, improvise a weekend less than an hour from Paris at Le Barn, one of our favorite countryside hotels with a restaurant, a permaculture vegetable garden, and a wellness area. But the new thing that makes us really excited is the Whisperer Experience offered every Sunday morning at the neighboring stud farm, allowing you to share an incredible moment worthy of Robert Redford in The Horse Whisperer. The deal? 30 minutes of theory, zero horse-riding skills required, and a one-on-one encounter with these majestic animals, all guided by an expert in ethology. A moment of pure delicacy, humility, and communion that lets you grasp their emotional intelligence and recharge with positive vibes.

Le Barn, Le Moulin de Brétigny, 78830 Bonnelles. From €220 per night for two people, including breakfast. The Whisperer Experience is reserved for hotel guests and offered by reservation every Sunday morning starting October 6, 2024, for 2.5 hours. Group of 6 people maximum, from 14 years old. No minimum level required. Information & reservations: www.lebarnhotel.com or at 01 86 38 00 00.

Go clubbing on Sunday

Starting October 20, La Gaîté Lyrique is bringing back its Sunday Syndrome nights, meaning its Sunday evening parties. On the agenda, a killer line-up in partnership with Arty Farty and Le Sucre S. society parties, bringing together emerging artists as well as headliners from Club culture. From 6 p.m. to midnight, every other Sunday, celebrating the end of your weekend in clubbing mode is the little craziness that was missing from our lives! Nota bene: the party is free before 7 p.m., subject to available spots. And since good news never comes alone, the novelty of the year is here: a pass is now available to reserve multiple sessions!

La Gaîté Lyrique, 3bis Rue Papin, Paris 3rd, Sunday Syndrome, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Brunch with Drag Queens

Every Sunday, the Italian restaurant Wanted, by the Canal Saint-Martin, gives up its dining room for Brunch & Queens. The concept? A huge all-you-can-eat Italian brunch with pasta, pizza, penis-shaped treats, salads, tiramisu, and chocolate mousse, hosted by a lively duo of drag queens who are there to wake up hungover groups. The added value: the entertainment that brings the restaurant crowd together with a legendary blind test to win a bottle of Prosecco, sing-along refrains, and battles of all kinds. Shy people beware!

The Brunch & Queen at Wanted, 45 quai de Valmy, Paris 10th. Brunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in 2-hour sessions, €38. Information and reservations online.

Participating in a DIY workshop

Trust Funbooker and Wecandoo workshops to offer cool and original activities to do with friends, as a couple, or solo. The Do It Team has selected the most inspiring ones:

- Try kintsugi: this Japanese art involves beautifying broken objects (plates, bowls, trays, etc.) with gold powder, silver, or colored lacquer (€65).

- Create your own leather bag: in a studio workshop, Tiffany guides participants in handcrafting a leather bag using the saddle stitch technique (€135).

- Paint while brunching: with this workshop, simply grab a paintbrush in one hand and a fork in the other to create your painting while enjoying avocado toast, pain au chocolat, and other treats (€49).

- Craft a mosaic artwork: piece by piece, assemble different ceramic tiles following the expert advice of a professional mosaic artist (€50).

Having a movie session in a palace

After being offered a glass of champagne in the lounge adjacent to this very VIP cinema, snuggle up in front of a feel-good movie like The Little Mermaid or Toy Story 4 with a cone of popcorn signed by Quentin Lechat, Prince, and Snickers revisited in palace style: there's no better feel-good therapy...

Booking a Shiatsu session

In the height of elegance in Saint-Germain-des-Prés: if girly atmospheres and oriental hammams aren't your thing, here's an ultra-bright place with a very luxurious, calm, and voluptuous spirit where they advocate the Rolls-Royce of Japanese well-being. Better than chic cuddles, here the treatments soothe tensions, backaches, and above all boost the immune system. Perfect for mixing the useful with the pleasant, especially on Sundays! The signature treatment? Shiatsu (€85 for 45 minutes), an extraordinary massage that rebalances energies along meridians connected to organs through which vital energy circulates. Also loved: foot reflexology (€110 per hour). Top: the spa is open until 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Assa, 8 Rue Christine, Paris 6th. 01 46 34 59 08. Open every day from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. Information and online reservations.

Discover also 5 must-known coffee shops and a well-being and festive getaway, just 3 hours from Paris.
