It’s THE new hot cantina at Montorgueil. This counter with a wildly girly look (flashy neon, wall of flowers, pastel furniture) dedicated to the Vietnamese sandwich is the word of artist Fafi and her foodie girl friend Heidi, ex-booker for models, just to keep you up to par.
Helped by their gang of pals, they serve the most fusion nibbles of all Paris in a really amusing ambiance.
The basic recipe? An ultra crispy baguette straight out of Eric Kayser’s oven, garnished with grate carrots, daïkon, house soja mayo, cucumber and coriander. Just choose the meat or marinated veggies of your choice.
Go for the back steak marinated in saké (the most traditional), breast of free range chicken with glazed lemon (a killer), glazed eggplant with garlic and ginger or the daily preparation (shrimp and pork meatballs).
We like: « pimping» our meal platter with a soup, a potato salad or a chocolate sesame cookie.
