Mas Re.Source: The Most Stylish Stopover in Gard

Gem Alert ! Two enthusiasts of old stones and collectors of photographs had the brilliant idea of migrating to the South to fulfill their dream of a house and at the same time offer us one of the most desirable experiences of this spring. Welcome to Mas Re.Source, a guesthouse nestled in the Cèze Valley amidst 4 hectares of nature where life combines art, design, good food, and relaxation. Pure bliss to be enjoyed with your loved one or with your BFF !

The Pitch

Falling in love with the landscapes of this still wild Occitanie during the confinement, rolling vineyards, fields of lavender, and olive groves as far as the eye can see, Rémy and Marc-Etienne Coussedière took the plunge to discover this old farmhouse planted in the middle of nowhere. Goodbye, Paris ! 14 months of work later, this old building comes back to life and embodies elegance amidst countryside and scrubland under the talent of landscape architect Luc Echilley, who has translated the imagination of these two aesthetes as closely as possible.

Mas Re.Source : Masterful Art !

Rémy and Marc-Etienne have a taste for beauty. The common living spaces, the 5 bedrooms, and the two individual houses of 50 m2 each bear the imprint of their passion for contemporary photography, offering giant prints of renowned names such as Denis Darzak, Luc Dratwa, Kristoffer Axén, Lucie & Simon adorning the walls. Dialoguing with meticulously chosen design pieces and other objects carrying stories bridging the past and present, each room asserts itself in the singularity of inspired modernism and comfort with palace bedding, soft bed linen, and reversible air conditioning. Special mention for room 5, ours during the stay, bathed in ochre tones and offering a spectacular window bringing nature and light inside, and the stunning bathroom with shower and bathtub.

Extras we love : the cinema room with its giant screen that delights movie buffs (and rainy evenings), pizza evenings organized every Thursday night with a professional pizza chef and open to outside customers, and the tranquility brought by the rule "adults and teenagers only" (from 15 years old).

Enchanting Setting

Away from the asphalt and car horns, Mas Re.Source unveils an exterior of breathtaking beauty, posing here and there corners where nature reveals itself in panoramic fashion. The superb swimming pool area is the first among them where lying on sun loungers one can easily spend the day, sheltered under the pergola or full sun! The terrace that extends the dining room is the best spot in the morning. To go daydreaming alone, the small garden patch to the right of the entrance places a chair facing an olive tree, like a painting. Higher up in the estate, the petanque court ensures the joy of late afternoons. And if the 4 hectares are not enough for you, the path in front of the house takes you straight to an olive grove in 20 minutes where Pitou, Rémy and Marc's adorable dog, will gladly accompany you!

Dining !

When you want to treat yourself to a real refreshing break of 48 or 72 hours, why not enjoy homemade meals. And the kitchen, like everything else in this house, is taken very seriously ! Marc and the kitchen, it's a proven passion. Just look at the library where among the art books, many cookbooks slip in. Markets and seasonal products guide his inspiration to create balanced meals that highlight vegetables : eggplant flan, squash and goat cheese tart, red ratatouille, vegetable velouté, fruit tarts, ultra-gourmet chocolate cake... And in the morning, breakfast caters to all desires, sweet and savory with pastries and top-notch bread !
