The work of David Hamilton owes a lot to the painters of the Renaissance and Impressionism. The star 70’s photographer drew his inspiration from several paintings by Veermer or Raphaël to the point of paying them homage à through a series of photographs, exposed until 12 September in YellowKorner galeries.
The Dancer by Degas, the Three Graces by Raphaël or the beach of Cabourg dear to Boudin, a number of masterpieces reinterpreted into photos by the artist with an inimitable style.
We like: these lightly hazy images that makes them wildly romantic.
The must : treat yourself to a snapshot of the famous photographer thanks to the democra-chic initiative of a gallery wishing to make art accessible to all.
