The Hotel de Crillon furniture up at auction

The last clients of the Crillon have just packed up their luggage, but before closing down pending two years of renovation work the prestigious palace on the Place de la Concorde unveils all its secrets. A public showing begins on Friday 12 April in anticipation of the furniture auction that will begin on Thursday 18 April. A great occasion for a peek behind the stage.

From the huge counter of the lobby to the concierge slot including Louis XVI style desks, curtains, chandeliers and even the fireplaces of the rooms of the dessert cart, all these pieces that marked history are showcased inside the walls of this institution.

We like: discovering the super comfy king size beds where the visiting VIP slept of looking into the same mirror as Madonna, a faithful client of the hotel.
