We advise you right away: grab your phone to book as soon as possible before the whole summer is booked. For a romantic weekend or a surprise getaway during the week, Les Jardins de Coppélia prove to be the dream break for Parisians in search of greenery with a swimming pool, spa and huge garden, very close to a wild beach.
A small Norman paradise
Located between Deauville and Honfleur , the 17th century manor of the Jardins de Coppélia , former residence of the Revillon family, is nestled in the heart of a magical garden. The beautiful outdoor swimming pool on one side, fruit trees on the other, an endless lawn, a small pond, a path that leads to the cider house of the house... It feels like disconnected from the real world, so much everything here radiates charm.
Between two splashes in the pool, we grab our towel and our book to lay down in the grass, we walk around barefoot, we throw the ball to the dog, we sympathize with the other guests, in short, we feel a bit like home, better. Because here, a 4-star establishment obliges, you can also lie down for an insane massage or enjoy a hammam or a sauna in the spa signed Garancia , before taking a nap, lulled by the birdsong, in the cute rooms with a view of the orchard.
Capucine: the locavore table
In the evening, we sit down in the garden (weather permitting) to taste the dishes of young chef Damien Frémont who plays the locavorism card , listing all the local producers (dairy, market gardener, charcuterie, fishmonger, etc.) and offering a fine list of natural and organic wines . The Greek wine Octave, in particular, is a gem (bottle €42).
The same goes for breakfast, where you can find juices and jams from the nearby cider house, pastries and breads from the local bakery and other yoghurts from the farm or Cotentin ham .
Stroll to the sea
A 15-minute walk, along a pretty path, leads directly to an absolutely deserted wild beach (even on weekends), far from the ambient excitement of Deauville-Trouville , its screaming Mickey clubs and tennis courts spoiling the view . . Here, the sea is ours and as far as the eye can see.
A car-free getaway
To get to paradise, you don't need to rent a car or pass your license. Book a TGV Paris-Trouville (2h30). Have an iodized lunch on the beach, take a walk in the city. Order a VTC in advance from Martial (06 15 76 51 33), the favorite driver of all the local stars who will charge you €35 to take you to the Jardins de Coppélia .
The same for the return, unless you prefer to deal with the hotel, which has a shuttle that makes regular trips during the day to Honfleur , where the owner Alexandra, adorable, also has guest rooms.
Rooms from €144. 3-course menu at the Capucine restaurant €55, 5-course €75.
