In the family of Rostang restaurants, this time we pick out Café des Abattoirs, a steakhouse revisited with a Frenchy sauce by the daughters of Michel Rostang, star studded chef in Paris.
On the roster great meats and a different kind of decor mixing design and vintage furniture.
The claim to fame of the designer? Serving a revisited create display the silhouettes of a cow, a chicken, a lamb and a pig on a XXL fresco in quilted leather without being kitsch.
Play at being a counter Calamity, perched on a high stool like a horse saddle ! A laid back spirit starting with the hors d’œuvres of the day to be shared with your neighbors (velvety soup, cheese house terrine …).
So just chose the meat cut that makes you lick your chops. Take your tip from ultra tasty Black Angus sirloin tip or a spicy version ribs version, lacquered pig with soja that has a definite Asian accent. As side orders, we go for their crispy fires or then an arugula salad with slivers of straw potatoes, addictive.
Tops: the house sauces presented in tubes like Heinz ketchup to be used according to whim: mustard, horseradish, tarragone, special kudos for our favorite, the BBQ.
We like: the 3 formulas: hors d’œuvre + meat + side trimming + dessert (32, 38 et 45 €) lunch and dinner along with charcuterie plrates at happy hou.
The must: the small pot of chocolate cream, a Danette served with a banana muffin. Tops also the flan pudding with a frothy egg.
