Rendezvous: rue Saint-Denis, where garish sex-shops and super trendy bistros happily co-exist side by side. In the second category, here is a new XXL venue that rhymes with Italy. To launch Kuccini, Flavien scouted top artisans from the Boot, brought back a chef from Milan and called upon the architect of Jérôme Dreyfuss and Maison Plisson. No less. And since he is really cool, plates come in 2 formats, tapas or normal—so you can nibble as a team or play it solo.
À la carte: the coming out of recipes by mamas, yet never seen in Paris. Examples? The crescentine of Modene, small cushions halfway between bread and a fritter (4,50€); a very good risotto with blueberries and taleggio, a cow ilk cheese(8,50€). Less niche but buonissima, saltimbocca alla romana, scallops wrapped in raw ham, with sage and white wine, sweet with a divine cream of ricotta zested with lemon.
Who do you run into? Gourmets from the showrooms, ad agencies and surrounding offices, for a chill happy hour. YOLO.
Special kudos to: their truffle raviolis delivered each week from Italy #killer (8,50€), and great transalpine wines (starting at 4,20€).
Open Monday to Saturday from noon to 2:30 pm and from 7pm to 10:30pm, until 11:30pm on Friday and Saturday.
