If you must remember one place in the category “new trendy spot” in the 2017 back to work fall, it’s this one. The “National”, a furiously chic hotel settled in front of the Saint Martin Church, newcomer in the trendy Eldorado named Sainte-Avoye… All the info on the Saint Avoye district, the still secret Marais.
The houses’ fermata: the Italian style patio-bar-restaurant. In command : the all-star of socialite Parisian restoration, starting Julien Cohen (Pizza-Chic, Grazie…) and the duo Jean-Pierre Lopez/Thomas Delafon (Le Très Honoré, Bambou…).
All this world gathers at Cicceria right after work, their refuge in order to enjoy a last minute drink (no reservation), sip on a Spritz, an old-fashioned glass of wine or a cocktail, to be coupled with particularly meticulous venetian tapas : mini Milanese cutlet (€6), arancini (€7), mini octopus carpaccio (€9), or lardo di colonnatta (€15).
Settle down for an evening meal : book a reservation in advance for the Italian dinning room : Ristorante National. On the agenda, a simply stunning pasta, linguine “à la poutarque” (€23) or gluten-free spaghetti made of kamut flour and safran (€20), refined fairs such as the veal piccata with lemon (€24), and a parade of comfort-food desserts in the style of lemon-cream and passion fruits (€12) …
Another favoured feature : a sensational rooftop, if the weather is fine, where all that is needed is a drink, to socialise and admire the view. No food available.
