Few brunch spots stand out in Paris. Why not try something different from the all-you-can-eat buffets, often filled with the same average-quality sweets and high waste potential? Calling all brunch lovers for their Sunday ritual: the lovely Dame des Arts hotel, nestled in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, now offers a unique set-menu brunch with a… Mexican twist! Price tag: €38. Can you beat that?
A Latin-inspired brunch that’s anything but ordinary
Just steps from Place Saint-Michel, the four-star hotel Dame des Arts immerses you in the distinctive world of designer Raphaël Navot. At the back, you’ll find a lush terrace perfect for lounging during sunny days, while the dining room itself boasts warm beige tones and curved lines.
In the kitchen, Othoniel Alvarez Castaneda is in charge! Hailing from Mexico, the chef puts his spin on brunch, blending classics (detox juice, pastries, toast, hot chocolate, matcha latte…) with more adventurous creations. Then arrives a parade of Latin-inspired delights: shrimp and crunchy vegetable empanadas or a vegetarian version for dipping in two homemade mayo sauces (spicy or smoky), ultra-fresh eggs Benedict elevated with tomato compote, and tacos with a weekly changing recipe. For us: pulled pork or veggie with mushrooms and broccolini (yum). For dessert, fresh fruit salad and, that day, a chocolate ganache with white chocolate cream. Verdict: excellent value, a refined setting, and attentive service.
Brunch by reservation, Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. €38 per person.
