We’ve always loved the porcelain gilding workshops at Bazar d’Alger. So when its founder Arnold d’Alger unveiled Grand Soleil, his brand-new creative hub imagined with ceramicist and illustrator Gaëlle Levray, we rushed over to check it out. And guess what? After discovering this stunning new DIY temple—where both beginners and pros come to perfect their craft—we knew it was the perfect spot to host the very first Do It In Paris Experience.

An unforgettable morning
Beneath the sunny glass roof, surrounded by lush plants and shelves of ceramics, guests will start with a cozy breakfast (hot drinks, juices, French pastries) while exploring the space. Then, everyone will get to choose from three creative workshops—each guided by expert artisans:
- Hand-building – A hands-on introduction to shaping clay to create your own piece and decorate it with slip.
- Wheel-throwing – Master the pottery wheel and watch your clay rise, Ghost-style.
- Gold decoration on porcelain – Learn the art of gilding two vintage plates sourced by Arnold—or bring your own porcelain pieces of any size and quantity to make them shine. (Tip: a curated selection of treasures awaits at La Maison de la Porcelaine, 21 rue de Paradis).
And because no Do It In Paris event is complete without indulgence, from 1pm onwards a delicious veggie buffet with champagne will be served, prepared by a talented chef.
