It’s the open sky cocktails bar the Western side of Paris was dreaming of. Recently taken over by Laurent de Gourcuff, the private mansion Apicius has put together a very chic and social revival with Mathieu Pacaud at the helm of the gourmet restaurant.
Faithful to his festive origins, Laurent de Gourcuff, king of Parisian nights with Paris Society (Bagatelle, Coco, Monsieur Bleu, Loulou, Roxie, the Piaf…) had to do something for his generation of buddies — stylish golden thirty and forty-year-olds — on the lookout for group happy hours. Done deal!
A festive garden
It’s the oasis Parisians in need of holidays were waiting for. A 1500m² setting of greenery with more than 120 places, between daybeds and wicker chairs to chill with the gang during long summer nights with a dedicated playlist.
At the centre: and huge chic and bar that sends out cocktails and glasses of rosé from leading houses (Minuty, Peyrassol…).
The very handsome barman lu shakes up on the spot potions around the flowers of the garden: the Rose with gin-raspberry-litchi, the Violette with pisco-blackcurrent, the Hibiscus with tequila-mint or the Jasmin with vodka, triple sec & orange (€25 per cocktail).
As for Matthieu Pacaud, he’s in charge of the kitchen with incredible suppliers and the catch of the day from Ile d’Yeu for the fish carpaccio. Artisan Alléosse serves the best cheese platter in Paris and Franco Gulli, the owner of the Cherche-Midi, is in charge of the charcuteries. Happiness is all we have to say.
Open every night from 5pm until 2am. No reservations.
