Ingredients to Shop
For 4 people
Preparation: 5 minutes
Resting: 10 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
- 8 slices of stale brioche (at least 2 days old)
- 2 eggs
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 240 ml milk
- 25 g butter
- A few pinches of brown sugar (optional)
Recipe
Crack the eggs into a large enough dish. Add the sugar and milk, then mix well with a fork.
Lay the slices of brioche flat in the mixture. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then flip the slices and let them rest again for 5 minutes to fully soak both sides. Do this in batches if your dish is too small.
Heat the butter in a pan on low heat. If you want, sprinkle a little brown sugar on both sides of the soaked brioche slices, and cook them on low heat for 5 minutes on each side. Increase the heat slightly and cook each side for another 1 to 2 minutes to achieve a nice golden result.
Enjoy the French Toast while it’s still hot!
