After launching the food truck fad in with Le Camion Qui Fume, Californian Kristen Frederick is now settling down with her Freddie’s Deli in Oberkampf, the buzzing area.
No burgers on the menu but a dozen sandwiches with a definite US flavor. Who says deli(catessen) obviously says pastrami with their terrific Goodman (11 €) and the Titz « Reuben » Wich customized with cheese and sauerkraut (11,50€ ).
Meat lovers will love the Freddie from Philly (10,50 €) and the « Little » Richard with roast beef, cheddar, grilled onions and horseradish sauce (10 €) or the I Love Lucy with turkey, bacon, avocado and cheese (9 €). And to go with this, choose chips, coleslaw or a baked potato with fountain avec un soda.
So we bite into street food, but in a very chic version with breads that vary in keeping with recipes signed Gontran Cherrier, the superstar baker.
If you have a sweet tooth, let yourself be tempted by their Oréo pie (5 €).
We like : hanging out at a table on the terrace.
Downside: there are no toilets, just a sink!
Sandwich + chips or coleslaw + fountain soda from 11 € to 13,50 €
Tuesday to Sunday, all day service from 11am to 10pm
