Dover Street Market, the iconic concept store from London and New York (among other locations) run by the duo Rei Kawakubo and her husband Adrian Joffe, the heads of Comme des Garçons, has now arrived in the Marais, naturally, in the beautiful Hôtel de Coulanges, once home to Madame de Sévigné. Being among the first to visit is a must.
A New Style Hub
Housed in a stunning 17th-century hôtel particulier, Dover Street Market is the most anticipated opening of the year. Spread over three levels, it features collections from young labels incubated by "DSM" in a futuristic, highly labyrinthine setup designed by Rei Kawakubo, who has clearly enjoyed creating a space that intentionally loses its visitors in a maze of nooks and crannies. Here, you'll find new releases from the Comme des Garçons parent company.
You'll also discover edgy pieces from emerging designers: the perfect cuts of AIREI, the Californian wardrobe of ERL, the oversized-soled derbies from French brand Phileo, Rassvet, the ultimate reference for skaters, the fun utilitarian wear from New York's Sky High Farm Workwear, and Westfall's t-shirts straight from L.A.
Scattered throughout are gems from Prada, Margiela, Craig Green, Miu Miu (hello boat loafers, our obsession), JW Anderson, Jacquemus, and Bottega Veneta, not to mention a dedicated sneaker space (Adidas, Asics, Salomon, New Balance…) and a stylish selection of sunglasses. It's the HQ of cool, trust us!
Free Exhibitions
Head to the basement to discover DSM's art curation, where regular events will be held, with schedules to be followed on their Instagram account. Kicking off until June 27th are the photos of Paolo Roversi, spotlighting the long-term collaboration between the photographer and Comme des Garçons. Magical.
Trendy Bites
Because fashion also feeds on good food, Rose Bakery runs the café corner with a great menu of snacks: protein tofu salad (€17), grilled chicken sandwich (€12), cherry tomato pizzette (€9), raspberry tart (€9), or cinnamon roll (€9) to enjoy from the lovely terrace overlooking the adjacent garden.
Open Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday from 12 PM.
