If you thought that kimchi was short for Kim Kardashian, better update your vocabulary. This fermented cabbage is part of the k-food musts—Korean cuisine, if you prefer. To skip from theory to practice, head for Dochilak, he Korean bistrot launched by the team of Soon Grill,, that already has three adresses in Paris : Batignolles, Opéra and Montparnasse.
At the table, it’s exactly the same as in Seoul. Grilled shrimp ravioli, tofu with soya sauce, pork ragù and kimchi (€12), salmon in sauce soja (€12), without forgetting the star on the menu: the bibimbap (a traditional dish made with meat, rice, veggies) offered in six different variations, from beef to chicken, including seafood (€11). To be washed down with a local beer (€4) or a cinnamon drink— a Korean secret (€4).
A little dessert ? Why not try a black sesame ice cream (€5.50), red bean sticky rice cakes (€5) or yuzu cream (€4.50).
We like: the chic and minimalist decor.
Now you just need to learn the choreography of the Gangnam style, highly recommended to eliminate!
