The most stylish independent movie house in Paris

Cocktail bar and restaurant of the cinema Beau Regard dedicated to artsy films

Formerly the Étoile Saint-Germain, the new cultural venue signed Silencio, located Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Beau Regard is dedicated to artsy films and committed  thoughts. The very best of the French cinema gathers there after a  private screening or to have dinner …

Behind Beau Regard: the glam’ association of the Silencio gang with Studio KO (the Yves Saint Laurent museum in Marrakech, Bar des Prés, that’s them) and chef Mathieu Pacaud. The duo of ultra ultra bankable architects has given a new life to the mythical projection room of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Its heart asset? Right next door, a socialite brasserie with a scenario worthy of a movie set, with leather banquettes, bar in marble, wood and Art Nouveau details, without forgetting a magical sound track that is quite reminiscent of the atmosphere at the Chiltern Firehouse in London...

So it’s not surprising that one runs into the VIPs of the César networking or having drinks on the heated terrace.

A stylish programming

Belle Epoque movie projection at the Beau Regard Cinéma

We are in Saint-Germain, a selection of independent novelties and art classics were a must. For those who dream “Left Bank ” moments: encounters and very trendy masterclasses  affirm the movie-club spirit.

On the programme for December: a Christmas Party will be taking place on Friday the 20th of December with the projection of La Belle Époque by Nicolas Bedos, karaoké evening of the best Xmas songs—from Céline Dion to Mariah Carey including Whitney Houston—and from 11pm to 6am in the cinema and the main room will be taking place the Christmas Line Up with DJ Emmanuel Caurel, the perfect antidote for a very busy Christmas!

On the 28th of December, their rendezvous “Lost in Frenchlation”, that will be featuring the projection of French films subtitled in anglais, will present La Belle Epoque, aimed at English speaking Parisians.

The other films on displays are the hot productions of the moment: between Gloria Mundi by Robert Guédiguian, the famous Joker ( Lion d’Or in Berlin…)  and the documentary that won 1st prize at the Festival de Cannes: La Cordillère des Songes by Patricio Guzmàn.

A successful box office …

In the kitchen, the talented Mathieu Pacaud (L’Ambroisie, Divellec, Apicius) signs a perfect menu—as usual, we would like to say.

For the winter casting: a number of great items to stay slim for the red carpet: red tuna and avocado (€12), curry scallops (€14) or beef parmesan (€10).

More classic:  ravioles of foie gras (€16) , dover sole and house mashed potatoes (€36), tetragone salad and chanterelle mushrooms (€18), crab and chestnut honey (€12) or the incredible soufflé with pralines (€10).

Those who prefer sipping a cocktail with a plate of foie gras (€13) or veggie tempuras de légumes (€7) in an evening bar version to flirt, or sip are happy with a hot cappuccino on the terrace in the afternoon are also welcome.
