Maison Chaudun, a chocolaterie gem

Maison chaudun chocolate factory

Good news for cocoa addicts: the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is right here. The legendary Maison Chaudun: this sleeping beauty has just been awakened by Gilles Marchal (ex Maison du Chocolat, owners of a pastry shop, a biscuit store and a  restaurant in Montmartre). Once again this pastry maestro hits the high note.

A dusted image, new recipes, enhanced classics, this chocolate institution, celebrating its 30th anniversary, is in the spotlight. All the more reason to come raid the freshly redecorated historical boutique. Go for their cult “pavé” a truffle moulded in the shape of a Parisian pavement, star creation of the House. Tops also, the iconic chocolate candies (ask for the squirrel), pure origin bars, tutti frutti caramel and fruit pastes—all yummy.

Even more off-the-wall, the brand is known for its customized chocolate creations. From the mask of Dark Vador to the Coca-Cola bottle, including your fave car or your it-bag, everything is possible (or almost). Check out their cabinet of curiosities nestled in the back of the boutique…
