Once a popular area, the Canal Saint-Martin neighborhood has now become the hangout spot for cool Parisians who love strolling along the water, discovering new trendy spots with international influences, sipping cocktails at lively bars, and shopping at ultra-stylish concept stores. It’s safe to say that picking our favorite spots here was no easy task…
Wukong The Grand Master
Alert! A new fashion hotspot, Wukong The Grand Master has already established itself as the place to be in the area. Inspired by the mesmerizing atmosphere of Wong Kar Wai, this intimate venue transports us back to the era of the Chinese Triads with dim lighting, candles on each table, red wallpaper, and a privatizable room. On weekends, the vibe kicks up a notch: a DJ takes over the decks, turning the place into a chic and electrifying night lounge. We loved the grilled Jiao Zi and sesame peanut chicken salad, while those with a sweet tooth will want to try the discovery menu with a selection of divine dim sums. Drink-wise? Try the In The Mood for Love, a subtle mix of plum liqueur, longan, rose brandy, and Prosecco, or the Young & Dangerous, a tangy twist that pairs perfectly with the bites.
Wukong The Grand Master, 32 Rue Beaurepaire, Paris 10th. Jiao Zi €9, Cocktail €14. Discovery Menu €50.

Must-try: the pastrami-smoked cheddar grilled cheese, basil hummus, or sriracha-miso fried chicken that’s simply addictive. Want to extend the joy at home? Bottles and dishes are available for take-away. Bonus? Martha can be privatized for your friends’ parties.

Jinchan Yokocho
For fans of Japanese curries with high comfort potential. After falling in love with Japan and then his future wife Miyo, Alban Cacace is back with a second location just steps from the canal. Designed as an immersion into the Japanese alleyways filled with small eateries, Jinchan Yokocho serves up tasty dishes in a super fun decor, with vintage Japanese advertising posters and more that we absolutely love. A little passion: the kawaii sodas (their homemade yuzu lemonade: 5 €!), their rice bowls, especially the salmon misoyaki with crumbled Bömlo salmon, white miso sauce, and Niigata rice (16 €), and their 100% Japanese pastries like the organic matcha cake from Uji and azuki beans from Hokkaido (6 €).
Jinchan Yokocho, 41 Rue du Faubourg du Temple, Paris 10th.
Make My Lemonade
The former blogger Lisa Gachet, known for her ultra-inspiring DIYs (Do It Yourself) ranging from fashion to lifestyle, launched her Parisian brand in 2012 with the mantra: boldness, European production, and limited quantities. Available from size 34 to 52, the Make My Lemonade pieces are both colorful, made from natural or upcycled materials. Among our favorites from the new collection “La Ragazza”: a floral cardigan, a black off-shoulder bodysuit, python ankle boots, and a leopard dungaree. Truly statement pieces!

This restaurant is designed like a country house in the city. The concept? A carte blanche dinner or à la carte lunch. His bold, colorful dishes are compositions like the incredible tuna head stew with fermented tomato and bitter kimchi. For sweet-tooths, don’t miss the delicate beet marshmallows with tangy sauce. A treat.
