In the same spirit as the buzz around Montreuil, Boulogne or Pantin, Clichy is a little bit the new “Parisian Brooklyn”, right next to Batignolles, where hipsters Parisians in their 30’s come to settle.
Recently arrived in the area, Christophe and Mia, owners of an important company in the communications field, have teamed up with their buddy Alban, to open Borough, the cool café that was missing in the area.
The new address we were waiting for in Clichy !
Ideally located on a pedestrian street, Borough is the ideal spot with a terrific terrace where one can show up for breakfast, nibble on a savoury tart at lunch or meet up with buddies for drinks in the evening.
The decor? They imagined it from A to Z: raw recycled materials, many vintage elements, a pleasant dimmed light that creates the atmosphere. Even the toilets are pleasant, like this nice looking flowery sink!
Happy hour
Here the big deal is deffo happy hour… You show up with the gang and settle on the terrace or the bar to sip nice wines from small producers qui or a natural, made in Clichy beer (€ 6 per pint).
Here, slabs with great products are the big success: refined for 18 months Comté AOP cheese (€6), an excellent ham grilled with thyme, rosemary and marjoram (€5) or organic houmous artisanal (€5) and an excellent olive tapenade (€6) for veggies.
A lunch and brunches “just like home”
A non-stop service to nibble at anytime of the day and home made cooking as we all dream of: a savoury tart (€6.5), a nice daily dish (€12.5).
Sandwich buffs will appreciate the ham and cheese as well as others made with the great baguettes from the La Rue Palloy bakery (all at less than €6), while chatting with Christophe, Mia or Alban or playing cards with friends.
And on Sunday, you show up for the delicious brunch with a freshly squeezed home made juice, a tart with salad, farmer cheese or the cake of the day and bread with organic butter—all for €19.5.
