If a Gin Tonic is your must when you go out and you dream of a low-key place to flirt quietly, you have found the right place. Imagined by the dream-team of Liquid Corp, the Bluebird cocktails bar has just opened its doors near Charonne and remains (for now) a secret address whispered by the inside track.
With a bossa nova music background, we adore the California ambiance from the 50s with wall-to-wall carpeting and discrete vintage posters. On the counter, you can almost imagine Marilyn Monroe incognito batting her eyelashes in front of Marlon Brando in a tight t-shirt, smoking cigarettes at the end of a film sequence. Hidden behind an amusing aquarium, the cosy smoke room avoids going out in the rain.
À la carte, torrid potions with a gin base (but not only) such as Main Gin Tonic with French gin and homemade tonic, citrus fruit and spices (10 €). Special kudos for the Pini Fizz with notes of pine and honey—a killer (15 €).
Tops: in case of a sudden hunger pang, dig into the cute olives stuffed with meat and fried « all’ascolana » (6 €), totally comforting. To be washed down with a delicate Parisien with Prosecco, Cocchi Rosa and mint (8 €). The ideal combo to impress your date.
