For whom? Motivated runners looking for ultra technical clothing for maximum performance.
The place: a new XXL flagship Parisian flagship on 3 levels, inaugurated last July behind Beaubourg, comprising running and lifestyle ranges. In terms of decoration, there is a good looking marble wall, vegetation, wood, connected screens and mostly a small “Motion ID” room with a fun test that allows you to choose the shoe that suits you best depending on your stride. Clever ! Created in 1949 by a Japanese shoemaker, Asics (from the Latin Anima Sana In Corpore Sano – a healthy spirit in a healthy body) immediately targets the technical sneaker, first to play basketball, then running. Fun fact: its big boss was inspired by the suction cups of the octopus to elaborate his first prototypes!
In the equipment department: obviously technical shoes (starting at €55), but also all the imaginable equipment to practice tennis, fitness and of course complete outfits, arm bands to attach your smartphone, waist belts to stash your stuff, socks, bandeaux, knee protectors, bags...
To be noted : once a month, on a Wednesday, Asics invites its community of “front runners” for a race in Paris starting from the boutique. Psst ! The next one is planned on the 7th of February. All the info on www.facebook.com/ASICS.
Open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm.
