The Most Enchanting: Fabula

Fabula, Musée Carnavalet terrace

The Terrace: Fabula's terrace is as vast as it is extraordinary, located in the hidden courtyard of the Carnavalet Museum in the heart of the Marais. This paradise is nestled between two 17th-century mansions. Families, friends, and couples love to spend their summer evenings here, enjoying an electrifying playlist featuring tracks like "L$D" by A$AP Rocky and "Nightcall" by Kavinsky. The staff recommends table 605, located just below the statuette, as the best spot for a date (you're welcome).

Menu Highlights: Cocktails by Vincent Diener are inspired by characters from the Carnavalet Museum, perfectly complementing chef Thomas Chisholm's (Chocho) signature cuisine. Our favorite cocktail? The Théodore, made with basil-infused gin, kumquat cordial, tonic water, and Thai basil (€20). At Fabula, sharing is encouraged! We recommend about three dishes for two people (or four for big appetites) and a dessert. Must-tries include the sea bream crudo with radish and ponzu sauce (€30), the strikingly graphic "black & white" vitello with confit potatoes and smoked tonnato sauce (€28), the smoked beet carpaccio with Greek yogurt, apples, and peanut sauce (€20), and the impressive green chartreuse baba with lemon whipped cream and herb salad (€18).

Fabula, Musée Carnavalet - Histoire de Paris, 16 Rue des Francs Bourgeois, 75004 Paris. Open from May to October, Tuesday to Sunday from 10 AM to 2 AM. Online reservations available.

Try the caramelized parmigiana (€20) or the sea bream with bouillabaisse sauce (€30). For dessert, indulge in a generous tiramisu (€12) or strawberries with whipped cream (€12).
