Where to Find Pedestrian Terraces in Paris?

The best pedestrian terraces in Paris

We love Paris dearly, but sometimes it can be noisy... and having lunch or dinner on a terrace often turns out to be less relaxing than we imagined, between the honking horns and cyclists struggling by. To take a break from the city's hustle and bustle, here's a look at three pedestrian terraces that are sure to become your summer go-to spots!

Babel Belleville

 Babel Belleville terrace in Belleville

The terrace: Sheltered from the bustling Belleville neighborhood, this hotel gem with a travel-inspired decor offers a lovely terrace nestled in a picturesque pedestrian street. A true urban refuge, the Bahar restaurant bar (meaning spring in Turkish and Persian) brings good vibes both indoors and outdoors, proudly displaying its cosmopolitan side in both its decor and menu, while also paying homage to the neighborhood with a fantastic beer brewed just two streets away!

On the menu: Fasten your seatbelts; Franco-Afghan chef Clarie Feral Akram takes you on the Silk Road, placing spices and world specialties in flavorful dishes. We love: the zaatar, parmesan, and aioli panisse fries (€7), the Böreks filled with feta, Emmental, and onions with a yogurt-harissa sauce (€10), the seasonal shakshuka with cumin and a perfect egg (€9), and the Bahar grilled cheese in toasted hallah bread with feta, Emmental, and pastrami (€10). For dessert, the Bakla-cheese, a baklava-style cheesecake with pistachios, honey, and spices, ends this sweet journey beautifully (€10).

Babel Belleville, 3 rue Lemon, Paris 20th. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 7:30 am to 1 am, Sunday and Monday from 7:30 am to 3 pm.

Moët in Paris by Allénos

Moët in Paris by Allénos

The terrace: Quietly located on the spacious cobbled courtyard of the Beaupassage gourmet hall, chef Yannick Alléno welcomes the Moët & Chandon house to his restaurant Père & Fils par Alléno, completely redecorated for the occasion by stylist Charles de Vilmorin. Settle directly on the terrace on ultra-comfortable white sofas, adorned with cushions designed by the artist, just like the tables and the crockery. Instagrammable, you say?

On the menu: Typical Parisian brasserie dishes starting with beautiful green asparagus in Greek olive oil (€16) or a duck foie gras terrine (€24). Next, try the famous Antoine’s burger with cheese or pepper, nestled in a deliciously soft bun and served with matchstick fries (€21), or opt for the ginger shrimp and chive butter sautéed to perfection (€27). For a sweet touch, indulge in the sublime pistachio millefeuille (€17) or taste the peach and ice cream dessert drizzled with Moët Impérial. Chic! You can also enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, offered at half price every day between 5:43 pm and 6:43 pm for the Champagne Hour (a nod to Moët & Chandon's founding year, 1743!).

Moët in Paris by Allénos, 53-54 rue de Grenelle, Paris 7th. Open daily from 12 pm to midnight.

Sienne

 Sienne terrace

The terrace: Located in the chic commune of Saint-Cloud near the large Avelines market, Sienne replicates the talent of Michelin-starred chef Baptiste Renouard, already at the helm of the gastronomic restaurant Ochre, in a more relaxed version. Declared a place of life and open continuously, Sienne is a vast space with modern aesthetics, featuring two rooms and an XXL terrace adorned with vibrant orange furniture where you can savor the moment away from the city's frenzy, under the open sky and full sun.

On the menu: An ode to convivial bourgeois cuisine, this chic bistro lays the classic foundations of the genre, brilliantly and creatively revisited by the chef. For lunch, the menu offers a delightful combination of dishes (€35 and €42). For starters, the perfect egg with peas and lemon balm truly lives up to its name. Craving freshness? Opt for the excellent cherry tomato gazpacho with light ricotta cream. For the main course, the pearly cod honors the iodized flavors and the chicken supreme shines with its rich tarragon jus. The stuffed zucchini with romesco sauce elegantly provides a vegetarian option. Exquisite desserts by pastry chef Nicolas Innocenti (formerly at Le Meurice alongside Cédric Grolet) include one of the best floating islands we've ever had!

Sienne, 46 boulevard de la République, 92210 Saint-Cloud. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 10 pm.
